Environmental and Social
SCF is committed to using responsible and sustainable business practices to support our growth and ongoing business operations.
We operate with integrity and respect, where the safety and wellbeing of our people are paramount, and we challenge ourselves to improve environmental performance. We are committed to being socially responsible, and we act accordingly.
Our policies provide guidance for our employees, stakeholders and suppliers and a framework to measure our performance.
SCF aims for continuous improvement in our environmental performance and seeks to identify opportunities to minimise any direct and indirect environmental risks and impacts from our products, services and facilities. Under our ESG Policy, our business decision-making and actions are driven by an assessment of environmental issues like:
- Efficient energy consumption
- Minimal use of hazardous substances
- Responsible disposal of hazardous waste
- Sustainability of resource
- Potential impact of climate change
As a business, we are committed to engaging in and maintaining positive, long term, trusting relationships with any Aboriginal community within which we operate. We acknowledge and respect the historical and ongoing Aboriginal connection to country through cultural and spiritual sites, language and ceremony.
SCF has operational, training, employment and sponsorship policies in place that promote engagement with the Aboriginal community and encourage awareness of cultural perspectives.
Our supply partners are a critical part of our business, so it is important we select suppliers that align with our social responsibility ethics.
We have high expectations of our suppliers and these are communicated in the SCF Ethical Sourcing Policy. Built on the principles of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) and International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conventions, our Policy reflects our commitment to the responsible sourcing of goods and services. The SCF Ethical Sourcing Policy covers principles such as:
- Business Integrity
- Minimum employment requirements
- Child Labour
- Adherence to local laws
- Environmental standards
We routinely audit suppliers to ensure our expectations are met and standards maintained.
We reject any form of modern slavery such as slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labour.
Through our Modern Slavery policy, SCF is committed to implementing controls which aim to identify and manage risks related to human rights across our business and through our supply chain. The policy includes measures to raise awareness and to ensure it does not occur in our business and supply partners.
We are committed to complying with relevant laws, community expectations and ethical standards related to human rights and modern slavery in respect of our employees and business. Our decisions and actions adhere to high standards of corporate governance including transparency, integrity, responsibility, and performance.
